blue button Illuminated Sign Cabinets  The most common and cost effective method of illuminating your signs is by using internally illuminated sign cabinets. They are available in a wide variety of sizes, can be made to custom shapes, and are usually double sided. They can be installed using a variety of methods; hung under a shopfront veranda, face fixed to a building, mounted above a veranda or roof, or mounted on poles. They are illuminated by internal fluorescent tubes, and use translucent opal acrylic faces. The graphics are applied using special translucent self adhesive films which are specially designed to "glow" when lit from behind. We can also print direct to the acrylic panel using our direct-to-substrate printer, enabling full image reproduction as well as text to be displayed on your sign. Custom made cabinets can be manufactured where the lettering is cut through an opaque aluminium sign face using our computer controlled profile cutting equipment. When illuminated at night it gives an effect similar to individually formed channel letters, but without the higher manufacturing costs.

blue button Neon  Whilst the benefits of LED technology are increasingly impacting on the usefulness of neon as a sign illumination source, there are still situations which can benefit from the superior intensity and internal fluorescence of traditional neon. When necessary, we can still produce neon signage for those projects which demand it.

blue button Why Choose an Illuminated Sign
The most obvious reason to use an illuminated sign is that it increases the time that your advertising is visible to your customers. Another important consideration is that the added vibrancy and stronger colours mean that your signage stands out above your competitors. Also, cleverly designed illuminated signage, particularly when combined with 3D lettering, can give your business a distinctive, upmarket and sophisticated look that is hard to beat.

blue button LEDs (Light Emitting Diodes)  have revolutionised illuminated sign manufacture in recent years. Because of their small size, low voltage, energy efficiency, long life and low heat output, effects that were simply not possible a few years ago are now becoming mainstream. Never slow to take up new technology, the team at Concept have been working with LED technology for a few years, and have successfully incorporated LEDs into a considerable number of recent projects, some of which you can see on this page. They are particularly useful for making internally lit formed lettering (channel letters) and for backlighting 3D letters to give a "halo" effect. The superior features of LED based systems mean that over the next few years they will gradually make neon and fluorescent based systems obsolete.
